This article is to answer the often asked question on how to sign-up for HardenedPHP hosting service.

Our HardenedPHP packages maintain and patch old and unsupported versions of PHP (5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, etc), making them secure again.

It keeps your applications safe by patching all PHP versions against known vulnerabilities – even those versions unsupported by the PHP.net community.

That way, you don't have to re-write scripts written for an older PHP version or worse, risk breaking your sites.

1. Does your web hosting service support applications that require PHP 5.6 and MySQL?

Yes. Our systems provide the option to host PHP 5.6 and also newer PHP versions.

2. What are the step-by-step instructions for signing up for this HardenedPHP service?

The packages that support hosting both older and newer PHP versions can be found at https://dashboard.webhostingmagic.com/store/secure-php-hosting

Once there, select the plan your budget and/or project requires, the system will then take you through the process of completing the process.

You can either buy a new domain name, transfer an existing domain, or use an existing domain (recommend changing the name-serves before deployment) to place the order.

3. What are the step-by-step instructions for transferring my MySQL databases over?

As previously mentioned, our host machines in all regions run MySQL 8.

If your application can use this and if your existing data is a cPanel powered account, our Migration Team can help you with the migration.

If your existing account is a non-cPanel account, then you (or your team) will need to do a manual migration.

Another thing to consider is how the databases were created.

cPanel does not recommend using phpMyAdmin to create databases or database users as it doesn’t map databases, which causes backups and restorations to not function.

They recommend using cPanel’s MySQL Database Wizard or MySQL® Manager interfaces found at cPanel >> Home >> Databases to create your database and user.

If you need additional help or clarification on this, please do contact our support team.

Thanks.
