You can host an unlimited number of domains from a single cPanel account.

To create a subdomain or add an addon or domain aliases, please use the new Domains interface.

The interface allows you to create and manage multiple domains from a single cPanel account.

But here is what you need to know.

  • a subdomain is a subsection of your website that sometimes exists as a sub-directory of your public_html (document root) directory or your account's home directory. Subdomains use a prefix in conjunction with the domain name.
  • an addon is a domain you have added to your hosting account. Addon domains link a new domain name to a directory in your account and then store its files in that directory.
  • an alias (parked) domain is a secondary domain that points to your primary domain $example.com. If users visit an alias website, the primary website ($example.com) appears.

To create a new domain, log in to your cPanel.

Scroll down to the Domains section.

Click on the Create a New Domain icon.

Enter the new fully qualified domain name FQDN.

If you want to create a subdomain, enter a new name followed by a period (.) and then the website's domain.

For example to create "subdomain.example.com", enter "subdomain" followed by a period (.) and then the website's domain to create a subdomain of example.com.

To specify the directory holding the files you want to serve, deselect the Share document root with the "example.com" checkbox, where example.com represents your main domain.

Please be careful here since you cannot modify the document root directory for domains that share a directory with the main domain.

To manage a domain's document root directory (which defines the domain's directory relative to the cPanel account's home directory) or to manage it, use the Manage the Domain option.

For example, if you have added $addonDomain.com, enter $addonDomain.com in the New Document Root text box, and you can upload its files to:

/home/$username/public_html/$addonDomain.com

How to add an addon domain to cPanel

Once that is completed, click Update.

If it is wrong, delete the domain and re-add it making sure that the directory path is correct.

If you want to send all visitors of a domain to a different URL, use the Modify the Redirects function.

Since we offer free SSL/TLS certificates for every domain you host with us, we recommend that you toggle the Force HTTPS Redirect to On to ensure that the website is serving secure content.
