No, since this has nothing to do with your data hosting unless the DNS is improperly configured.

Your website(s) can be online while the domain name transfer process is initiated and completed.

Before you start, please note that the domain cannot have any of the following domain name status codes:

  • clientTransferProhibited,
  • pendingDelete,
  • pendingTransfer,
  • redemptionPeriod,
  • serverTransferProhibited

The process is really simple:

  • To transfer your domain name, you must first unlock it. A locked domain cannot be transferred to another registrar or account.
  • Ensure that the domain's WHOIS email address is valid and that you can receive email on the address.
  • Request and get your EPP authorization code (a string of characters) from your registrar’s dashboard. EPP Code (also known as Transfer secret) is a randomly generated complex code that contains numbers, letters, and special characters.
  • Visit https://dashboard.webhostingmagic.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer and initiate the transfer. Your former registry will send an email to the registrant contact for the domain to request authorization to transfer the domain.
  • Approve the transfer.
  • Check to verify that the transfer has been initiated.

If the registrant contact authorizes the transfer, we start to work with your current registrar to transfer your domain.

Once all messaging between us and your old registrar is completed, our system will send you an email informing you of a successful transfer.

Then you can manage the domain by visiting https://dashboard.webhostingmagic.com/clientarea.php?action=domains
