Before doing anything else, there are a couple of things to be aware of:
- if you have installed a Let's Encrypt certificate, please remove it as our systems do not support it. Once removed, click on Run AutoSSL.
- if you haven't added the proper DNS records, then SSL installation will fail. Please use the "dig" or "nslookup" commands to check the status of each record before attempting to force AutoSSL to install an SSL/TLS certificate.
If all the above are kosher, then there is something very important to know about AutoSSL.
AutoSSL does not poll for certificate availability immediately after a certificate request submission.
Instead, it submits certificate requests, then periodically polls the cPanel Store for each requested certificate and installs it after successful retrieval.
When you have visited cPanel >>> Security >>> SSL Status and click on Run AutoSSL (this forces the system to perform an immediate AutoSSL run. The system will display the AutoSSL is in progress … message for the duration of the run. The SSL/TLS Status interface will reload when AutoSSL completes its run), please do give the process at least 24 hrs before doing anything else regarding this.
