cPanel comes with mod_dav which provides class 1 and class 2 WebDAV ('Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning') functionality for Apache.

The Web Disk drag-and-drop feature gives you complete file management capabilities on your server across multiple types of devices

When an account is created, a default Web Disk account ( not deletable) that uses the same set of credentials as your cPanel account is created too.

With this, you can access all of the files in your home directory.

You can view the login details for the WD account or download its configuration script by visiting Access Web Disk >>> Configure Client Access.

You can also create additional ones for your team or developer.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind though.

If you use Windows and you are accessing Web Disk over a clear text, unencrypted connection, enable Digest Authentication.

If your system admin has mod_speling, make sure it is configured properly or it will cause you grief since mod_dav must be able to write to the directories and files under its control using the User and Group under which Apache is running to manage files.

So again, ensure that the server is configured properly.

There are iOS® and Android™ cPanel applications (apps) that enables you to use Web Disk on your mobile device.

Here is the documentation URL you need for that: https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/CKB/The+Web+Disk+Mobile+App

I would recommend Panic Transmit not only because it connects to cloud services, like Backblaze B2, Box, Google Drive, DreamObjects, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, etc but also handles the classics — FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, and S3 and even comes with Panic Sync: http://panic.com/sync/ to sync your sites.

Whatever you choose to go with, it is important to be careful as you may accidentally overwrite your website files easily.
