If you are a customer with a verified email address that is linked to your billing account, changing it is something that only the account team can do for you.

The reason for this is that the verified email is tied to your billing (payment information access).

Even as we do not store your credit card details locally, such privilege still gives the viewer access to past invoices, billing records, tax information, etc.

Moreover, the main account (or the user account the primary account assigns this privilege to) also has access to cPanel & WHM, Webmail (via the single-sign-on integration).

So making changes to the email address and your phone number is something that must be done with your full consent and approval.

There are two ways to do this:

Option 1: Secret Question Answer

If you have two-factor authentication enabled on your account (which we highly recommend), you can also simply approve the request by giving us the answer to the secret question.

If you have shared this with our team via email, please change it to something new once the request has been honored as anyone with access to your Inbox may see the secret answer.

Option 2: Telephone Consent

This involves a 2 step process:

  1. receive a call from one of the security team members
  2. approve the request by giving us the answer to the secret question you set

If you choose this option, you can set the hour during business hours and the Security Team will call you to verify the request.

Once either of these is done, the changes as required are made.

Option 3 (self-service): Add A New User And Grant Him Or Her All Privileges

Another option would be to visit https://dashboard.webhostingmagic.com/account/users, add a new user and grant him or her all privileges.

Once done, grant the new user access as the primary account Owner, then delete the old one.
